The Russian toddler featured in the story came to Beaumont Children’s Hospital because his family heard about Dr. Chaiyasate’s amazing surgical talent. After the child was born in Russia, people told his mother to “bury him in the backyard” because there was no hope for him. Now, he is a vibrant, loving 5-year-old. It is truly incredible.
